I don’t often put “serious” work up here, but I was pretty proud of this pet portrait I made for a friend. This was Servo, the cat. I say “was” because, unfortunately, he has passed on.
This piece was a sort of breakthrough for me with gouache (opaque watercolor) because I usually rely on charcoal or dark graphite to “rein in” the paint. This time, I sketched the proportions in very lightly, and just used the paint to create the piece.
So…yay, me.
