Mythological Creatures

I suppose these are the Irish version of mermaids.

I have always liked mythology, not only oof the Greek and Roman variety.  A Selkie is a creature  who can become human by shedding its seal, a skin. This is a very abridged version, and like all things, can be researched extensively on Wikipedia.  Goodnight! 🙂

  1. I have an old book on Celtic Myths and Legends and have read up on the Selkie, it’s all very interesting. There is an irish film called The Secret of Roan Inish, it’s about a Selkie, I haven’t seen it myself but heard it is quite good.

I’m a huge fan of all Myths and Legends, I find them so fascinating and I love the way they make my mind and imagination wonder.

    Love the picture 🙂

    1. I have seen that film, and it is indeed quite good! I wish I’d had the energy to write more about the Selkie, because it is interesting, and sounds tragically romantic in most of what I’ve read.
Yes, I realized that I need to make more paintings of Myths and Legends.
      Thank you 🙂
