Tiny

Digital, Le Grand Portefeuille

For this Illustration Friday, I decided to keep playing with the Wacom and Photoshop, so I drew and inked a sketch, then played with color and brushes in the computer. I really like the way this process has been going, and the palette is very unlike my usual earthy tones.  It’s definitely good to get out of the comfort zone.

Drawing is Playing

I drew the original drawing in my sketchbook, then scanned it to play around with all the Photoshop brushes I’ve acquired from Kyle T. Webster (best Photoshop brushes, bar none). I’m having to downsize my studio soon, so am toying with using the computer more for illustration. This was really fun to do, actually, and it seems the experimentation with this sort of thing is rather limitless. So…party on and stay tuned for more.

It is fun to play around with the Wacom, as well as illustrate quotes by favorite authors. I am rather happy with the way this turned out, and feel it may be the start of something new in my artistic journey.

Business of Art

I’ve been working on promos this week, and trying to get better about doing quarterly mailings. Here are the postcards to be sent (once they arrive from moo.com).

A little explanation, if you like: I illustrated my daughter, who really loves to twirl in the living room when music is playing.
