I continue down this path of fun, doodly-style illustration. Also, it seems I have become infatuated with creating art for coffee mugs. I don’t know what it is…I do love coffee, but I also love the mug as an illustration surface. Go figure.
P.S. I like to think that David Bowie would drink his tea out of this mug. 😀
I love creating designs for kids’ t-shirts and clothes almost as much as creating book illustrations. Giraffes are a particular favorite, with their crazy anatomy. I hope this fellow makes someone happy today.
I have had such fun playing with little happy ideas and seemingly small, everyday items. If only love could power all the lights and everything in our house…we might get a power surge, though!
There was a time when my art was very dark (content-wise) and a bit scary…but that’s been a long while. Now I hope to use my art and cartoons and what have you to bring a little love and light into people’s lives. That is my mission, in a nutshell. Promoting the happy, cozy, simple pleasures of life in order to give you pause and a smile, hopefully!
This piece is a bit different from what I usually do…I got out of my comfort zone a little and looks as if I’m drawing with neon chalk. Instead, it was experimenting with coloring my lines in Photoshop, rather than letting the lines hold the color inside. One of those little happy accidents while learning and experimenting…I believe that’s called growing. haha
A quick sketchbook piece…Happy Tuesday!
Silly, wrinkly, smush faces
It is fun, finding pictures and inspiration on dog breeds, as well as myriad other information. The pictures of boxers were all quite goofy…they seem a jolly, snugly sort of dog, like my Lily pit bull baby. (BIG baby.) I bet they snore, too. The boxers I’ve known have all been big and boisterous and sweet, even though they are big, muscle-bound dogs.
This is my first attempt at Boxers, as suggested by a friend from high school, Avery. I will keep trying to draw different breeds, especially smooshy-faced dogs…I KNOW I can do better than this. Still, posting throughout the good and not-so good can show us progress and growth and…well, you get it.
Feel free to suggest any dog breed (or animal!) you’d like to see on this blog.
I hope wherever you are, you’re warm.
